In 2009-10, MIC's Great Decisions program was honored with the Frank R. Cella Memorial Award from the Foreign Policy Association in New York City, and designated "Best Lecture Series in the Twin Cities" by Minnesota Monthly magazine;

2006 Carol Marquis Award for Excellence in School Programs from the World Affairs Councils of America;

2006 Outstanding Community Organization Programmer Award for the State Department’s International Visitor Leadership Program from the National Council for International Visitors;

2004 Great Decisions 50th Anniversary Award from the Foreign Policy Association for outstanding work and growth;

2004 President’s Award for Council Excellence from the World Affairs Councils of America;

2003 Twin Cities International Citizen Award;

2001 Mondale Award for Japan-Minnesota Partnership from the Japan America Society of Minnesota.
